Muay Thai MMA Technique #7
September 17, 2006
Kick pad drills for throwing leg kicks from the ground (scorpion position). This drill helps condition your kicks and builds power because it requires using your hips to launch the kick. A 3-minute round of this working each leg is a killer workout! Try it!
Also useful for MMA ground-fighting. Target your opponent’s knee as he moves in.

Got something to say?

Yeah sure.
I …
Yeah sure.
I wonder what how long that guy’s leg would be, if he can kick that guy on the ground in the face right away after the hit. It didn’t look too easy to go in.
I actually fight so I know.
yeah dude, well I ” …
yeah dude, well I “actually” fight too, and he`s still open on the left side. I`m not saying that it does`nt work all the time tough..
lol sound effects.. …
lol sound effects….and LOL to “I actually fight” omg thats awesome…please tell us how awesome you are over the internet…I actually fight so i know…thats too good…
I’m no expert, but …
I’m no expert, but isn’t the guy lying down awkwardly positioned? Sure, you could kick in that situation, but assuming that the opponent is also on the move and not just standing still, the risk of being side controlled is too big to think you could kick him into submission. Again, just my opinion
it a training drill …
it a training drill… designed for building up power in your legs. forget about the guard…
Stupid kick.. I do …
Stupid kick.. I do not think that is Thai person. If another person can block and couter kick it impossible to defend..
It’s amazing how …
It’s amazing how may experts are on youtube saying that a training drill can easily be passed or I could kick his head or what ever… How do most of you train? Full contact all the time? When you guys where beginners, white belts or just learning a new move was it not explained in slow motion against an “Uke” who was willing to give themself for your learning experiance or did all of you come out of your mother as martial arts experts?
who ever says some …
who ever says some shit things about this lesson that people is twice shit if any body can do better do it than or shut the fuck up…the guy is teaching very good..if you learn you might be better or not..thanx man good lesson
You make a realy …
You make a realy good point, its a pitty bout that bit at the end though, makes you sound like a 5 year old.
What? The part …
What? The part saying “I actually fight so I know”?
Well, some of the idiots here comes back with a reply like “how do you know this? Do you even fight?”. I’m making a good point here, and have seen other fighters use this as well(even Royce Gracie used this). Can you explain how I sound like a five year old?
PS: I haven’t slept for more than 35 hours when I was writing this. I’m not saying this to try and defend my last comment. I’m defending the part where I said “I wonder “what” how long…”.
Just sounds like …
Just sounds like somthing a kid would say on the play ground, like a my unlcles in the army kind of thing, no offence by the way cos it was a good fair comment.
Well, that comment …
Well, that comment saying “my uncle’s in the army” has nothing to do with that kid. That tells me that, that kid is crediting himself through someone else’s gain(s), which is childish. But I’m talking about myself. I was just simply telling this guy that I have experience and I’m not some that knows this by surface. It’s a good way to convince dumbasses. It has always been the best way to make those kinds of people listen to me more seriously, that’s why I used it.
I like your …
I like your thinking, and yeah I suppose that tactic would work, nice one. I’ve gone past caring and just say let them be dumbasses, if he tried it im sure hed learn the hard way (spritsengiggle)
To whoever’s …

I like your transition from being a Muay Thai fighter in to the MMA world, you are very wright! the only way some fighters will learn to kick on there back is to get there and do it! perfect practice is what like to see! nice kick!
its ok..dont worry. …

Now, I could be …
Now, I could be wrong, but Muay tai was the art of “Eight limbs” (Arms, Elbows, Knees, and Feet(2 each)) Are theese vids just focusing on the kicking concept?
