UFC Fight Night, First free card of the year set to be a good one

December 25, 2007

Fans of the ultimate fighting championship are in for a treat on Wednesday January 23rd at 9PM Eastern and Pacific time as it is the return of the Fight Night Free UFC nights. This will be the first Fight Night of 2008 and its set to be an impressive show with lots of big name fights.

The main Even will be Mike “Quick” Swick versus Josh “The Peoples Warrior” Burkman. The Charismatic Swick, a veteran of the Ultimate fighter Reality series, is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Yushin Okami from UFC 69. Burkman will be looking to make a spectacle out of Swick since his last fights have gone to decision.

The next match will be Patrick “The Predator” Cote versus Drew McFedries. Cote is coming off a big win with a technical knockout over Kendall Grove. Drew will be looking to stop Patrick and create more interest in him as a fighter with a impressive win if possible.

Next up will be Alvin “Kid” Robinson versus Ultimate fighter winner Nate Diaz. Alvin is relatively new to the UFC and will be looking to make a name for himself by knocking out the brother of famous UFC veteran Nick Diaz. Meanwhile Nate will be looking to add another name to his Win list among the likes of Manny Gamburyan and Junior Assuncao.

Finally we will have Michihiro “Micci” Omigawa Versus a fan favorite Thiago Tavares. Michihiro will be looking to fix his current record which is in the negatives at 4 wins and 5 losses while Tavares will be coming off a loss to Tyson Griffin back in UFC 76 by unanimous decision.

As usual there will be many fights that may not be broadcast if the fights go on to long. Fans can hope to see fights with Gray ‘The Bully” Maynard, Cole “Magrino” Miller and “handsome” Matt Wiman
